Similarity transformation in one–dimensional reaction–diffusion systems; voting model as an example
The exact solution for a system with two–particle coagulation and decoagulation has been studied. The spectrum of the Hamiltonian of the system is found. It is shown that the steady state is two–fold degenerate. The average number density in each cite 〈ni(t)〉 and the equal time two–point functions 〈ni(t), nj(t)〉 are calculated. Any equal time correlation functions at large times, 〈ni(∞), nj(∞),...
متن کاملHysteresis in one-dimensional reaction-diffusion systems.
We introduce a simple nonequilibrium model for a driven diffusive system with nonconservative reaction kinetics in one dimension. The steady state exhibits a phase with broken ergodicity and hysteresis which has no analog in systems investigated previously. We identify the main dynamical mode, viz., the random motion of a shock in an effective potential, which provides a unified framework for u...
متن کاملErgodicity breaking in one-dimensional reaction-diffusion systems
We investigate one-dimensional driven diffusive systems where particles may also be created and annihilated in the bulk with sufficiently small rate. In an open geometry, i.e., coupled to particle reservoirs at the two ends, these systems can exhibit ergodicity breaking in the thermodynamic limit. The triggering mechanism is the random motion of a shock in an effective potential. Based on this ...
متن کاملVoting Systems as Linear Transformation Models
In this paper, a new voting system model is introduced as a linear transformation model. The size of compartmental populations in each political group corresponding to every voted subject, the population weights, the weighted votes policy against each political group, the “Yes” and “No” rates, the “No” rejection policy and the “Yes” increase policy are the inputs / outputs of the introduced lin...
متن کاملA one-dimensional reaction/diffusion system with a fast reaction
We consider a system of second order ordinary differential equations describing steady state for a 3–component chemical system (with diffusion) in the case when one of the reactions is fast. We discuss the existence of solutions and the existence, uniqueness, and characterization of a limit as the rate of the fast reaction approaches infinity.
